NEW ASTM standard for fabric specifications for welding, grinding, and cutting operations is under development: WK50403.

This is a real improvement in welder safety.  There is no standard for welding clothing or for welding PPE other than eye protection for that matter.  ArcWear and e-Hazard support this new standard.

ASTM offers descriptions of work items in the interest of openness, as well as to solicit input from interested stakeholders who may not be members of ASTM.
