Webinar: Specialty PPE for Arc Flash

How Many PPE Challenges Are Not Addressed in the NFPA 70E Standard?

How many PPE challenges are not addressed in the NFPA 70E standard? We’ve had many questions come through about what PPE to wear in specific job settings.  These jobs range from work at nuclear facilities to food and chemical processing plants and even “clean” rooms.  One of the challenges that workers face while working in these locations is that the PPE needs are not specifically discussed within the NFPA 70E.

What’s the Best Way to Deal with These Challenges?

I will be leading a 1 hour webinar discussing some of the common specialty questions that I get related to PPE in Arc Flash. Come prepared with any questions you may have on PPE in relation to specialty work areas!

    I have a question
I work in a commercial laundry facility, the maintenance staff wears FR-ARC rated pants and long sleeve shirt, my question would be we are not air conditioned so can maintenance staff wear a t-shirt in the summer months but if they are doing electrical work wear the long sleeve FR-ARC shirt, the pants would remain the same FR-ARC rating no matter what the temp.

This is perfectly acceptable but some companies don’t want to allow this in case someone forgets to put on the AR long sleeved shirt when testing or doing energized work.

We recommend using an AR t-shirt and allowing this to prevent ignition underneath and allow more comfortable wear.
