Emory Benson

Emory Benson joined e-Hazard as an instructor/consultant in 2019. Emory has over 38 years of experience in electrical distribution and 21 years of experience supervising line crews at Cobb EMC, an electric utility in Georgia. At Cobb he began as a journeyman lineman doing live-line work in 1981, and progressed to Line Foreman, then Operations Manager.

For the last three years he served as the utility’s Safety Director, responsible for all regulatory compliance, employee safety training, workers compensation and corporate liability/loss control. Since 2016 he has worked on the ASTM F18 committee focused on protection for electrical workers. He holds a U.S. patent for apparatus and method for electrical cable identification, and is an electrical contractor licensed in Georgia.
