Barbara Mentzer

Barbara has nearly 30 years experience in the electrical industry. She currently manages datacenter operations for Microsoft’s West Des Moines facility. Leading a team of 50 mechanical, electrical, and control systems professionals, she is responsible for daily operations and maintenance, and collaborating with peers worldwide to develop datacenter best practices.

Barbara has taught IBEW Inside Wireman courses and served as SME for 360training.com, writing and evaluating electrical training courses. She has also been an SME for the NFPA’s EV and photovoltaic research projects and reference library.  Additionally, she has been a volunteer firefighter,  fire captain, and fire chief.
