Hugh Hoagland

Hugh Hoagland is among the world’s foremost experts on arc testing and electrical safety. His NFPA 70E and OSHA 1910.269
Training Programs are used by many Fortune 500 companies and governmental agencies including Alcoa, GM, Toyota, Bechtel,
DOE, and hundreds of electric utilities.

Hugh has performed and developed testing for the electric arc since 1994 and has performed over 25,000 electric arc tests on
numerous forms of PPE. He helped invent most of the arc resistant rainwear materials used today and is also co-inventor of
the first arc protective face-shield and an adaptation to a hot-stick shield for worker protection. Hugh has published extensively and
sits on several standards committees in both the U.S. and Canada.
